Description

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these.

As Georgia’s public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas:
behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.

The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta.

Responsibilities

  • Collects data related to Incidents occurring in assigned DBHDD Hospital
  • Determines incident type, including involvement codes
  • Responsible for completeness and accuracy of Incident Data entered into Image or similar Incident Management Software
  • Provides documents related to investigations
  • Collects witness statements and other documents related to incidents
  • Identifies trends in Incident Data that may endanger individuals or staff
  • Collaborates with other Incident Managers to address Division of Hospital Services needs
  • Position requires up to 10% within state hospital system
  • Actively Participate in assigned Hospital System Meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hospital incident reporting
  • Experience in data collection, analysis and reporting
  • Experience entering and retrieving data from databases
  • Experience in incident and risk management
  • Experience working with individuals diagnosed with Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities
  • Knowledge of TJC (HAP, NCC, BHC) and CMS regulations related to individual and staff risk and safety
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience with Microsoft Access or Power Bi
