Our Opportunity:
We are looking for a Software Engineer III at our facility in Bellevue, Washington to serve as a technical lead on business critical, cross-functional projects.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, and implement large scale distributed systems that process and serve large volumes of data.
- Hold a high bar for the quality of the architecture and design of systems.
- Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
- Decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions that operationally scale and are easily maintained.
- Instill engineering excellence in the team and have the drive to focus on scalability, resiliency, high availability and performance of applications.
- Actively mentor engineers, build and foster a strong engineering team culture, and be a key contributor in raising the bar of the engineering org.
- Generate and analyze engineering metrics to inform leadership and make data driven decisions.
- Convey dissenting opinions in a constructive manner and contribute intellectual property through patents.
- 10% domestic travel required.
- Local telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field and 7 years of software engineering experience.
- Will also accept a Master’s degree and 5 years of experience.
- Must have experience in: computer science fundamentals such as functional design, data structures and algorithms;
- Java, Kotlin, or another modern programming language;
- System-level design microservices and service oriented architecture at scale;
- Developing software in an agile environment with CI/CD;
- Build and scale applications in the cloud (AWS) with a focus on development;
- Software engineering and DevOps practices across the full software development life cycle, including coding quality standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and automation, chaos testing, deployment and pipeline management, service readiness and operations, maintenance and support;
- Agile methodologies and using Agile practices;
- Algorithms, data-structures, efficiency, concurrency, performance optimization, resiliency, availability and exception handling;
- Contributing to the architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling of new and current systems; and
- Cloud computing, large-scale and high-availability distributed architectures.
- 10% domestic travel required.
- Local telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
