Job Description Summary

The Splunk/SignalFX Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our Splunk and SignalFX monitoring and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Splunk and SignalFX, strong data analysis skills, and a proven track record of implementing effective monitoring solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Development: Design and develop monitoring and analytics solutions using Splunk and SignalFX to meet the needs of IT operations and other stakeholders.
  • Data Integration: Integrate various data sources into Splunk and SignalFX, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and visibility of IT infrastructure and applications.
  • Dashboard Creation: Develop and maintain custom dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide actionable insights and real-time monitoring.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize Splunk and SignalFX configurations for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT operations, security teams, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective monitoring solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and best practices.
  • Support: Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for Splunk and SignalFX solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing monitoring capabilities and recommend innovative solutions to improve system performance and reliability.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:

o Proven experience in developing and managing Splunk and SignalFX solutions.

o Strong background in IT operations and monitoring.

  • Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in Splunk, including experience with Splunk Enterprise Security and IT Service Intelligence (ITSI).

o Strong knowledge of SignalFX for real-time monitoring and analytics.

o Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

o Familiarity with data ingestion techniques and integration methods.

o Experience with dashboard and alert creation in Splunk and SignalFX.

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn new skills quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Knowledge: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in Splunk, SignalFX, or other monitoring and analytics tools.
  • Security: Knowledge of security monitoring and incident response practices.
