About You-experience, education, skills and accomplishments
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent years of experience in the field
- 5+ years of Java development experience
- 5+ years of Spring Boot/SpringCloud
- 2+ years of experience with relational databases and database design using PostgreSQL, MySQL
It would be great if you also have…
- Experience using ElasticSearch
- Experience in Agile methodologies
- Experience developing in a Linux or Windows environment.
- Experience with REST APIs
What will you be doing in this role?
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in accordance with coding standards.
- Review other code to ensure clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Define architecture of software solution.
- Implements software for specifications of high complexity for limited scale systems, or medium to high complexity for large-scale systems.
- Responds to direct or indirect customer inquiries regarding function and design and attends customer meetings.
- Writes application technical documentation.
- Participates as a team member on various engineering projects and may lead small projects.
Product you will be developing
The Vega Discover project which is a very forward-thinking engagement and customer relations suite of tools for public libraries, to help library administrators reach out to and involve both their patrons and their communities in with more directed and personalized interactions.
About the team
The team has been together for about 4 years of with highly skilled engineers, based in USA and Europe. The project assignment will be working on the Vega Discover for our Engineering and Project Stakeholders. The team will report to a US-based Manager for guidance and tasking.
Hours of Work
- Full-time permanent position primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed
- Hybrid position working 2-3 days/week on-site
- Must live within a commutable distance to one of our US office locations: Philadelphia, PA; Ann Arbor, MI; Alexandria, VA; Denver, CO
