Summary of Position:
The Financial Planning Analyst is responsible for monitoring and/or looking at economic trends, relevant laws, and other factors, and uses the data to create viable financial models for the company. Makes recommendations on how the company can best to invest its money.
I. Essential Functions:
1. Manages financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
2. Analyzes the market and forecast trends.
3. Completes market research and comparable company analysis.
4. Develops tools and reports to analyze financial performance.
5. Creates variance analysis reports and financial models.
6. Leads real-time financial performance monitoring.
7. Sets and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives.
8. Identifies and understands business challenges; proposes solutions.
9. Recommends strategies for increasing financial performance.
10. Prepares financial summaries and analytics to assess the viability of potential acquisition targets.
11. Escalates any financial issues to management.
12. Presents detailed monthly financial reports to managers.
13. Uses popular financial planning and analysis software.
14. Coordinates budget timing and deliverables with Chief Financial Officers (CFO) and companies’ controllers.
15. Assesses the need for policy and/or process improvements and recommends modifications to the CFO.

1. Must have a Bachelor’s degree with a finance related major (Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business)
2. CPA, Master’s Degree in finance related field, or MBA preferred.
3. Must have 5+ years of progressive experience in analytical financial roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

1. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
2. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
3. Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to examine large sets of data and summarize in a logical and intuitive manner are required.
