This opportunity is available at our campus in Tustin, CA. This position is with the Flight Sciences- Aerodynamics Engineering Team. This position is in Tustin, CA. The Flight Sciences team is looking for an intern who must be enthusiastic with high energy and have a strong willingness to learn advanced aerodynamics concepts. The candidate will support the engineering for the suborbital spaceplanes’ aerodynamic analysis and planning for all phases of flight. As an intern, you will be working in the Flight Sciences team, which is comprised of Thermal, Loads, Aerodynamics, Aeroelasticity, and Mass Properties groups for the suborbital spaceplane Spaceship.
Qualifications (please update the highlighted bullet points)
- Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree (required) in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering with a graduation date of December 2024 or later.
- Must be available to work full-time (40 hours a week) over summer.
- Basic understanding of aerodynamic concepts.
- Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship.
- Must be a US citizen, or national, current US permanent resident holder.
- Must possess strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities.
- Strong interest in commercial space flight and flight sciences.
The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $41,600.00–$55,640.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
