Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for an Electrical Engineer to fill up an entry-level position (0-2 years’ experience). The qualified candidate will work in a rapid development environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers who designs, develops, evaluates, verifies, and provides in-service engineering support for the Navy’s Aircraft Launch and Recovery system. This position may require travel in support of system product installation, system operation verification and testing, and certification. We are searching for a creative out of the box thinker individual to assist our team moving forward into the future. The selected individual will learn basic systems engineering fundamental skills necessary for the success of every projects we develop for NAWCAD. It will also provide the opportunity to create and develop advanced technology capabilities in the areas of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and quality processes critical to defense work. Specific responsibilities could include hardware design from concept-to-production, creating approaches to engineering processes, developing and updating drawings and documentations, developing and analyzing modular systems solutions, system testing and validation. The successful candidate will receive immediate mentorship from experienced managers and engineers and will learn to network and collaborate with the rest of the engineering team.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related major
0 – 2 year(s) related experience
Ability to be granted a security clearance by the Federal Government
Computer Aided Design Experience (Altium Designer is a plus)
Develop and Interpret Schematic Diagrams and PCB Layout Drawings (IEEE 91, 315, 991, IPC-2221 a plus)
Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Design (VHDL a plus using Xilinx Vivado ML)
Must have basic understanding of Analog and Digital circuits
Ability to learn new skills and tasks
Must have attention to detail
Ability to work and stay focus on task
Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions to the problems identified.
Excellent verbal and written communication
Excellent skills in Math and Physics
Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.)
Knowledge of the US Navy’s Air Traffic Control & Landing Systems
Team player with a proactive attitude, the ability to be productive in a dynamic / collaborative environment (e.g. open seating arrangement)
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
In addition to a BS (or MS) in Electrical Engineering, or a related major, the Electrical Engineer should meet the following skill sets. (Mentoring and training will be available as needed.)
Strong knowledge of MATLAB and Spice Simulation Software (e.g. LTSpice).
Familiarity with RF hardware including waveguides, couplers, antennas.
Familiarity with Common RF Laboratory instruments including Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Oscilloscopes.
Familiarity with common Printed Circuit Board fabrication processes.
Familiarity with Shock, Vibration, and Dynamic Motion Simulation and Modeling.
Familiarity with Thermal Analysis and Cooling of Electronics Simulation and Modeling.
Familiarity with the RedHat Enterprise Linux Environment.
Familiarity with Python.
Familiarity with C, C++ programming.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $61820 – $105050
