Summary
Lidl US is looking for a Director of Marketing- Strategy & Planning to join our team! This position will be responsible for developing the strategic vision for Marketing based on our customer insights. The Director of Marketing- Strategy & Planning will report to our US Headquarters in Arlington, VA on a hybrid 3-day schedule.
What You’ll Do
• Develop the strategic vision and plan for Lidl US marketing that is based on customer insights while supporting key business areas.
• Build media plans that demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing investment across brand & performance goals
• Develop, plan, and execute 52 week calendar for marketing
• Strong partnership and collaboration with Sales (operations), Merchandising, PR, and Promotions
• Strong project management skills with ability to deliver against long and short term strategic projects
• Manage customer journey from media to digital engagement to in-store execution
• Identify opportunities to grow the business and increase operational cost efficiencies by leveraging new technology, equipment, and systems.
• Lead organic social team
• Brand steward for Lidl US
• Lead, develop and grow talent pipeline for a large team of 15-20 reports
• Manage agency partners, third party vendors, and contract negotiations/agreements.
• Oversee and manage marketing budgets and financial justification for all projects.
• Understanding of email, sms, and push channels and their roles in the customer journey
What You’ll Need

• Ability to build, support, and inspire a customer centric marketing team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrate executive presence with c-suite leadership
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Ability to work independently
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
• BS/BA Required in marketing, business administration or a related field. Post graduate degree strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible related experience.
• 5-7 years of management experience with significant business impact.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience in marketing, retail, or other related field
Physical Job Requirements
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally when required
