THE POSITION
The US Value Stream Strategy Partner is responsible to maximize the value offered to patients and the healthcare ecosystem at large by ensuring our medicines are made available to our customers and patients through a variety of new value stream strategies. These strategies require the design, development and implementation of new solutions and capabilities that support the delivery of both product and enabling services, technologies, or tools as appropriate. This role represents an opportunity to drive change – both inside and outside Genentech – to enable greater value and support for our customers and patients.
The US Value Stream Strategy Partner will be responsible for the following:
- Develop an understanding of product, market, local infrastructure, regulation and laws
- Develop new interfaces, business processes, and systems to enable data flow and insights exchange between PTS and US Commercial and to enable innovation in support of outstanding customer and patient experience
- Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to translate customer and patient insights into innovative solutions
- Develop new and leverage existing tools and methods to intimately understand the value stream needs and objectives from customers, patient, caretakers, HCPs, and internal stakeholders
- Distill strategic objectives and market / affiliate needs into tangible requirements, value propositions, and objectives for new value chain designs for local market implementation
- Influence others, including senior leaders, to challenge status quo, obtain buy-in, and enable supply chain innovation in business areas where Supply Chain hasn’t previously contributed
- Lead large local and or global cross-functional or cross-division teams, such as with local and global colleagues e.g. affiliate legal, regulatory, access, commercial, and medical, as well as regional and global supply chain, local / global IT, global product strategy, etc., to development new value stream solutions within the targeted market
- Manage high level of complexity and navigate ambiguity to innovate and deliver integrated value stream solutions for target market(s), such as: supply chain configuration, local logistics solutions, digital integration, product level technologies (product monitoring), new and novel supply chain capabilities, etc.
Experience & Knowledge
- 15+ years experience within the pharmaceutical industry with deep experience across multiple disciplines, including experience navigating possible legal, regulatory, procurement, logistics and supply chain hurdles that may be faced when establishing new supply chain capabilities
- Experience working with or in the affiliate and/or experience working with customers is preferred.
- Understanding of the product value chain (flow of goods, flow of funds, flow of data) at global and local level
- Strong business acumen and creative problem solving capabilities
- Experience with projects that require systems thinking, complex solution design, and the ability to influence without authority, etc.
- Experience with digital and technology solutions and an ability to work with digital / IT teams.
- Experience and willingness to work cross-functionally at both the global and local level. The ability to collaborate and co-create both internally and externally is critical.

- Preferred location is SSF, with the possibility to fill the role with a candidate from an alternate location if necessary
