Job description
Join us as a summer intern and discover the world of Risk Management. Dive into our culture, engaging in real projects that offer a comprehensive business overview. Select your desired business area for an in-depth introduction, taking on immediate responsibility guided by a mentor and line manager. Forge connections, explore new horizons, and unlock growth opportunities in this 8-10 week journey. Join us during the summer of your penultimate year of university to build skills, expand knowledge, and embark on an impactful path towards a promising career.
Why the Risk Summer Internship?
You’ll be immersed in at least one of the many Risk disciplines including credit, portfolio oversight, modeling, and operational risk. You’ll develop a solid understanding of the different businesses and products Barclays offers, the risks they occur and how to manage them while supporting Barclays strategy. During your time you’ll apply your critical thinking and analytical skills to live risk issues in Barclays. And we’ll give you all the training and support you need to make the most of this valuable experience.

What we are looking for:
To be considered for this program, you must be an undergraduate student with an anticipated graduation date between December 2024 – June 2025 and a GPA of 3.2 or above.
Ideally, you would also have:
Problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. An interest to understand how a global bank adapts in a constantly evolving regulatory environment and an interest in how our bank responds to external market influences and find the support to build a successful career within Risk.
Resourcefulness, team-orientation, enthusiasm, and an entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrated through participation in extracurricular activities.
Working in Wilmington
The Wilmington campus boasts a recently renovated office space featuring a cafe, coffee bar, wellness breakout spaces, and more. The campus is located along the historic Wilmington Riverfront where a glance out our windows reveals a scenic look at the Christina River and a growing riverfront community of luxury apartments, shops, and restaurants. Additionally, the Wilmington train station is a short walk away, making travel from New York and Washington, DC fast and convenient.
