Volt is immediately hiring for a Boiler Operator in Bridgeton, NJ.
As a Boiler Operator you will:
- Operates the plant boilers, air compressors, refrigeration units, cooling towers, water softeners and other utility systems in a safe manner.
- Monitors the operation of the plant Dissolved Air Floatation Unit and makes appropriate contact to obtain assistance when problems are noted.
- Assist with and provide support for the maintenance of the plant including installation, repairing, maintaining, setup, troubleshooting, and / or operating Plant Utility Systems, including Boilers, Air Compressors, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Wastewater Operations, Plant Manufacturing equipment or other Utility System machinery.
- Monitor and maintain the correct boiler chemistry. In addition, ensures proper operation of chillers, cooling towers, wastewater treatment facility, and chemical addition systems.
- Conduct facility preventative maintenance and repairs for all equipment as directed.
- Replaces packing on pumps and valves, motor and pump bearings, seals and sleeves. Adjusts shaft alignments, worn parts, bearings, seals, lubricates motors and gearboxes.
- Conducts visual inspection involving small defects and, or small parts. Maintains plant and pump station building and grounds
- Other duties include proper use and care for tools, maintaining daily maintenance logs, ordering and stocking parts.
- Conducts other duties as assigned.
- Troubleshoot control issues.
- Assist with maintenance work as needed
- Flexibility if required to work overtime as required by the maintenance
- Assist Operations/maintenance department as needed
- Any other assigned tasks/duties
This is a Direct Hire | Full Time opportunity on 3rd Shift 6PM to 6:30AM.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- 4+ years of Industrial Maintenance experience – (mechanical and electrical-electronic a plus).
- Valid NJ Blue Seal Operators License for operation of the boilers and NJ Blue Seal Operators License for operation of refrigeration installed in the factory in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Pay Rate: $34.95 per hour + .50 cent shift differential
