Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Risk Analyst join our dynamic team of engineers, technologists, and military veterans. This position will be located in Wallops Island, VA working at the U.S. Navy’s Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC). SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of every ship in the AEGIS and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future.
The selected candidate is responsible for reading and analyzing data, assist in creating business continuity plans to limit risk, assessing and identifying risk that could impede the reputation, safety, security or financial success of the customer. Risk analysts are expected to facilitate meetings with customers and attend current working groups with several work areas to understand and implement a Risk Management Advisory Board.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor’s degree or at least 4 years of relevant experience (equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree)
Experience advising or conducting management of technical, schedule, or financial risk, to include
participation in risk advisory boards/risk review boards, as well as managing a risk register, risk mitigations, and tracking risk to closure.
Security clearance requirement: This position requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain a Secret level clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance. If selected candidate is not in possession of an active Secret clearance, then he/she will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim Secret clearance is granted.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Knowledge of databases to include JIRA, Power BI, Microsoft Suites, etc.
- Experience with Compliance Assessment, SWOT Analysis and Threat Modeling
- Excellent communication skills; being able to present to leadership as well as to peers
- Ability to translate complex ideas and express them in concise, simple to understand ways
- Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Ability to own issues/risk decisions and manage on an ongoing basis
