Job Description
Global Technology and Operations division of our client seeks an application developer to assist in the developing and supporting Regulatory Transaction Reporting application across multiple jurisdictions and asset classes for OTC Derivatives and FX products. The team has developers based in Chicago, New Jersey, and India. Coordination across all regions and front office development teams will be required to meet the objective. The name of the application they support is called \”Cirrus.\” The candidate should have a solid experience in development, and will be responsible for contributing to all phases of the SDLC including analysis, design, development, QA, UAT, and also production support. Will be responsible for working with the Business and Operations teams in the back office. Experience in regulatory transaction reporting for CFTC, EMIR, or MiFID II is a plus
CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) project:
Creating a real-time messaging process; there is a new regulation where messages / issues have to be remediated in 7 days which is significantly quicker than the current state. The goal is to establish more checks, more data, using distributed systems, unix, and python. Hosts to interface with
internal applications such as cesium, helium, atom and other APIs. Send and receive messages in XML / CSV. Python is the main thing you’re developing with. Will be working with a large code base called Quartz; Cirrus is a real-time rules engine, get trade info, understand who to report to, and integrating the data into one massive application and working with distributed systems, finance terms, unix, linux machines to check and debug, acceptance and parallel processing, so much data that you have to find out how to do it in parallel. Big rewrite initiative and the way they store and process the data is going to be more real time, the old way was slower and more manual.

• The candidate should have a solid experience in development, and will be responsible for contributing to all phases of the SDLC including analysis,
design, development, unit test, QA, UAT, and also tier-2 production support.
• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performance applications
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Implementation of security and data protection
• Work closely with lead developers to implement Python application architectures and designs.
• Maintain existing applications to support operations.
• Produce documents including design documents, and class diagrams.
• Perform testing with technical peers and functional end users to ensure successful launch of development projects.
• Out of hours support when needed.
