THE WORK

As the Senior Manager of the Rotary Wing Mission Systems Department, you will lead a diverse group of Fellows, First Line Managers (FLM) and their multi-disciplinary engineering teams to conduct research, development, design, and testing of advanced mission systems technologies. You will oversee a portfolio encompassing contract & IRAD activities, collaborating closely with program market segment leads and chief engineers to deliver innovative solutions.
Responsibilities include:
• Setting and clearly communicating organizational vision, expectations, and objectives.
• Organizing and facilitating development of cross-functional agile teams. Ensure team members are prepared with the training and skills to be successful.
• Grow talent pipeline through targeted training and career development of employees
• Champion automation of processes in the spirit of Digital Transformation and in alignment with 1LMX.
• Actively engage in the development and maintenance of common software architectures, capital and research projects, and new business opportunities.
• Champion continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to employ tools and practices that increase team efficiency and quality.
• Maintain and ensure compliance with all hardware/software engineering processes, design assurance and tools
• Actively monitor staffing demand and take action to ensure sufficient supply.
• Facilitate cross-program opportunities by coordinating with Chief Engineering and Program Management.

Please Note:

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

This position will involve approximately 25% travel to our sites throughout the U.S. There is a requirement to be onsite to Owego as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:
— Bachelor’s Degree is required in a STEM related field
— Minimum of 15+ years of professional Engineering experience
— Minimum of 10+ years of leadership experience
— Demonstrated experience leading development programs and multi-disciplinary teams using Agile methodologies
— Demonstrated Technical, Cost, Schedule and People leadership across multiple concurrent activities
— Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management (EVM). Current or previous CAM certification.
— Demonstrated ability in identifying and mitigating risk
— Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government security Secret Clearance is required
Desired Skills:
— Advanced Degree
— Experience collaborating with the other functional leads, engineering, production and suppliers on continuous improvement in materials and processes
— Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing the critical skills of others
— Familiarity with DevSecOps and Lean principles
— New business capture and/or proposal experience
— Strong Communication Skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain internal and external customer relationships

— Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge of multiple technical disciplines relevant to this role: Software development, Systems Engineering, Integration and Test

— A problem-solver with strong skills in decision-making (related to cost, schedule, technical and risk), and closure (dedication to close open items/issues) to ensure mission success
— Identifying and implementing productivity and quality improvements across the business
— Ability to manage multiple priorities

Ability to Work Remotely:Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules:Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position:4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $153,200 – $293,600. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $176,200 – $331,900. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
