The Stakeholder Engagement, Expert, will lead, facilitate and support various aspects of PG&E’s enterprise-wide stakeholder engagement program, including political and issue advocacy efforts, and statewide coalition-building. This position will play a critical role in further enhancing and developing PG&E’s stakeholder engagement program on a variety of key issues, while also supporting local policy, state legislative and/or agency activities. This position will also engage heavily with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in support of broader Corporate Affairs objectives.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $129,000
Bay Area Maximum: $207,000
Job Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead and/or support multiple internal and external coalition-building, issue advocacy and stakeholder engagement activities, as assigned.
- Develop and execute political strategies and recommendations on complex issues in targeted areas working within a matrixed internal environment.
- Support and coordinate executive-level engagement with key external organizations.
- Assist in the coordination of political polling, focus groups and research activities.
- Effectively and succinctly communicate verbally and in writing, findings, reports and recommendations to various levels of leadership.
- Facilitate meetings and coordinate engagement activities amongst cross-functional internal teams in a matrixed environment.
- Develop, measure and report on success of the stakeholder engagement and advocacy program.
- Develop and/or implement best practice policies, procedures and processes related to stakeholder engagement.
- Support state legislative and/or agency activities and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 6 years of related experience or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Desired:
- Government/Public Affairs experience
- Ability to synthesize and propose impactful actions on complex issues
- Strong writing skills and ability to distill complex topics into simple language
- Experience/familiarity with the California legislative process
- Experience leading/managing issue advocacy and/or political campaigns
- Demonstrated ability managing complex projects in a matrixed environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of the energy and utility industry and its relationship with the political environment
- Political and/or organizing background preferred
- Project management experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel)
- Graphic design experience
- Previous labor union, trade association or PR firm experience
