As an Advisor, Commercial Spend Management & Analysis at Newmont, you will play a key role in driving data-led decision-making within our Commercial function. You will lead initiatives that enhance our spend visibility, improve supplier engagement, and support sourcing strategies across global operations. Your role will consist of
- Leading strategic spend management initiatives that align with Newmont’s global objectives on cost, risk, and supplier performance.
- Developing dashboards and reporting tools that deliver actionable insights on spend patterns and supplier relationships.
- Supporting strategic sourcing by conducting spend segmentation, market intelligence gathering, and spend categorization.
- Ensuring the integrity of ERP system data and serving as a liaison between Commercial and IT teams.
- Designing and maintaining a structured spend taxonomy to support data-driven sourcing decisions.
- Conducting detailed spend analytics to identify sourcing opportunities, cost savings, and value leakage.
- Performing supplier and market profile analyses and maintaining awareness of emerging trends.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to support procurement initiatives and drive supply chain resilience.
- Delivering commercial insights that support sales, marketing, and supplier relationship improvements.
Your training, skills & experience checklist
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or Data Analytics preferred.
Experience:
- Experience in spend analysis, strategic sourcing, and category management.
- Background in supply chain operations across regional or global mining sites is a strong asset.
- Experience working with best-in-class supply management or top-tier consulting firms.
Technical skills:
- Advanced proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, and SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Skilled Ariba user or administrator.
- Strong analytical skills, financial literacy, and experience with cost modeling and forecasting.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Soft skills:
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Effective communicator with ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- High ethical standards and commitment to continuous improvement.

Working Conditions
- The position will be based at our Denver corporate headquarter or can be offered remotely within the Americas, depending on business needs.
- Some domestic or international travel may be required.
- Flexible working arrangements may be available.
The salary range offered for this role is USD $89,760 – 117,810.
